The data released by Bureau of Labor Statistics for Consumer Price Index on 13th May, 2025 has come in at an increase to 0.3% for April 2025. Compared to the previous release for March 2025 at 0.2%, we can see that prices & inflation is increasing month over month.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the CPI release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 120,535 ETH with prices swinging between 2,451.25 and 2,525.50, representing a swing of 2.94%. Prices ranged between a low of 2,491.81 to a high of 2,505.21, a 0.53% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased significantly by 591% to 40,753 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 2,500.80 with a high of 2,542.72, a significant change of 1.65%.
