On 10th June, 2020, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to maintain the target interest rate at 0.00-0.25%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 38,459 ETH with prices swinging between 242.71 and 243.88, representing a swing of 0.48%. Subsequently, the trading volume increased significantly by 464% to 217,071 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 242.00 to a high of 250.28, a significant difference of 3.31%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 2,002 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 242.92 to a high of 243.49, a 0.23% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased significantly by 137% to 4,742 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 242.88 with a high of 243.94, a significant change of 0.43%.
