On 18th June, 2025, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to maintain the target interest rate at 4.25-4.50%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 131,859 ETH with prices swinging between 2,467.12 and 2,538.70, representing a swing of 2.82%. Subsequently, the trading volume decreased by 9% to 119,447 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 2,470.50 to a high of 2,537.48, a difference of 2.64%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 15,757 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 2,485.55 to a high of 2,504.80, a 0.77% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased considerably by 58% to 24,878 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 2,480.57 with a high of 2,519.37, a significant change of 1.54%.

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) has eight regularly scheduled meetings each year, but they can meet more often if the need should arise.
