On 26th July, 2023, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to maintain the target interest rate at 5.00-5.25%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 52,378 ETH with prices swinging between 1,854.69 and 1,864.19, representing a swing of 0.51%. Subsequently, the trading volume increased considerably by 90% to 99,512 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 1,855.61 to a high of 1,888.00, a significant difference of 1.72%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 3,365 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 1,855.11 to a high of 1,860.20, a 0.27% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased significantly by 325% to 14,289 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 1,855.61 with a high of 1,875.00, a significant change of 1.03%.
