On 29th January, 2025, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to decrease the interest rate by 25 basis points for a target interest rate at 4.25-4.50%.

To see the impact and volatility of TAO's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 33,261 TAO with prices swinging between 452.20 and 471.90, representing a swing of 4.17%. Subsequently, the trading volume increased significantly by 120% to 73,044 TAO. Price action ranged from a low of 441.30 to a high of 476.30, a significant difference of 7.35%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 3,311 TAO in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 456.10 to a high of 468.80, a 2.71% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased significantly by 218% to 10,515 TAO. At this time, Bittensor hit a low of 448.40 with a high of 463.20, a change of 3.20%.
