On 19th March, 2025, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to maintain the target interest rate at 4.25-4.50%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 139,985 ETH with prices swinging between 2,015.33 and 2,056.99, representing a swing of 2.03%. Subsequently, the trading volume decreased by 6% to 131,780 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 1,997.33 to a high of 2,064.91, a significant difference of 3.27%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 12,909 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 2,015.33 to a high of 2,030.39, a 0.74% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased significantly by 277% to 48,729 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 1,997.33 with a high of 2,064.91, a significant change of 3.27%.
