On 28th July, 2021, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to maintain the target interest rate at 0.00-0.25%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 115,982 ETH with prices swinging between 2,255.55 and 2,325.99, representing a swing of 3.03%. Subsequently, the trading volume decreased by 12% to 101,781 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 2,251.02 to a high of 2,328.97, a difference of 3.35%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 12,531 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 2,255.55 to a high of 2,277.99, a 0.99% change. Immediately following, trading volume decreased by 12% to 10,969 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 2,251.02 with a high of 2,284.53, a change of 1.47%.
