On 16th March, 2022, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to maintain the target interest rate at 0.00-0.25%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 122,831 ETH with prices swinging between 2,671.99 and 2,724.07, representing a swing of 1.91%. Subsequently, the trading volume increased considerably by 71% to 210,568 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 2,632.91 to a high of 2,788.00, a significant difference of 5.56%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 6,580 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 2,690.82 to a high of 2,705.91, a 0.56% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased significantly by 769% to 57,204 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 2,644.22 with a high of 2,716.27, a significant change of 2.65%.
