The data released by Bureau of Labor Statistics for Consumer Price Index on 10th June, 2021 has come in at a decrease to 0.8% for May 2021. Compared to the previous release for April 2021 at 0.8%, we can see that prices & inflation is increasing at the same rate month over month.

To see the impact and volatility of BTC's price during the CPI release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 31,192 BTC with prices swinging between 36,242.57 and 38,491.00, representing a swing of 5.84%. Subsequently, the trading volume decreased by 26% to 23,036 BTC. Price action ranged from a low of 36,612.00 to a high of 38,198.23, a difference of 4.15%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 1,650 BTC in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 37,369.79 to a high of 37,749.98, a 1.01% change. Immediately following, trading volume decreased by 20% to 1,317 BTC. At this time, Bitcoin hit a low of 37,425.00 with a high of 37,720.40, a change of 0.78%.
