On 10th December, 2025, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to decrease the interest rate by 25 basis points for a target interest rate at 3.75-4.0%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 114,533 ETH with prices swinging between 3,306.80 and 3,429.51, representing a swing of 3.58%. Subsequently, the trading volume increased considerably by 75% to 200,735 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 3,318.29 to a high of 3,447.44, a difference of 3.75%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 12,128 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 3,361.44 to a high of 3,411.56, a 1.47% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased significantly by 274% to 45,355 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 3,346.80 with a high of 3,435.00, a significant change of 2.57%.
