On 16th June, 2021, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to maintain the target interest rate at 0.00-0.25%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 125,295 ETH with prices swinging between 2,381.00 and 2,457.85, representing a swing of 3.13%. Subsequently, the trading volume remain relatively unchanged at 121,739 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 2,377.77 to a high of 2,458.70, a difference of 3.29%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 4,706 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 2,411.03 to a high of 2,430.89, a 0.82% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased significantly by 685% to 36,937 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 2,377.77 with a high of 2,458.70, a significant change of 3.29%.
