On 7th May, 2025, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to maintain the target interest rate at 4.25-4.50%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 77,842 ETH with prices swinging between 1,788.84 and 1,833.32, representing a swing of 2.43%. Subsequently, the trading volume remain relatively unchanged at 5% to 81,655 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 1,787.01 to a high of 1,816.98, a difference of 1.65%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 15,578 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 1,788.84 to a high of 1,808.90, a 1.11% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased by 25% to 19,504 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 1,788.78 with a high of 1,808.55, a change of 1.09%.

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) has eight regularly scheduled meetings each year, but they can meet more often if the need should arise.
