On 29th July, 2020, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to maintain the target interest rate at 0.00-0.25%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 157,300 ETH with prices swinging between 318.00 and 325.00, representing a swing of 2.15%. Subsequently, the trading volume decreased by 49% to 80,465 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 320.54 to a high of 323.50, a difference of 0.91%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 4,642 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 320.50 to a high of 321.60, a 0.34% change. Immediately following, trading volume increased significantly by 104% to 9,491 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 320.54 with a high of 322.80, a significant change of 0.70%.
