On 12th June, 2024, the Federal Open Market Committee has decided to maintain the target interest rate at 5.25-5.50%.

To see the impact and volatility of ETH's price during the Fed Interest Rate release, we will first observe the difference in volume and price changes on the 4-hours chart, followed by the 15-minutes chart. Change in prices will be be determined by the high and low prices instead of the opening and closing prices.

4-Hours Chart Analysis

In the period prior to the release, the trading volume was 56,832 ETH with prices swinging between 3,588.00 and 3,646.70, representing a swing of 1.61%. Subsequently, the trading volume increased considerably by 78% to 101,242 ETH. Price action ranged from a low of 3,513.32 to a high of 3,623.98, a significant difference of 3.05%

15-Minutes Chart Analysis

Analysing on a lower time frame to get a more accurate picture, 1,959 ETH in trading volume was observed prior to the data release. Prices ranged between a low of 3,607.00 to a high of 3,625.70, a 0.52% change. Immediately following, trading volume remain relatively similar at 31,189 ETH. At this time, Ethereum hit a low of 3,556.00 with a high of 3,623.98, a significant change of 1.88%.
